an-Naksah - June 12th - Boss Paintball

Category: Events

Six Day WarBoss Company is producing “an-Naksah” on June 12th. This will be the  first official scenario production for the Boss Paintball field team, however these guys have been helping put together games forever as part of the Boss Paintball machine and the artists formerly known as E.P.I.C. Unit. From what I have read on the various forums, “an-Naksah” is what the Arabs refer to when talking about The Six Day War. It means “the set back”". Kind of says it all. From Wikipedia: The Six-Day War of June 5-10, 1967 was a war between Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. The Arab states of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria also contributed troops and arms. At the war’s end, Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The results of the war affect the geopolitics of the region to this day. Read more

Vietnam: A Total War Perspective - June 5th - Red Fox Games

Category: Events

VietnamRed Fox Games isn’t one of the most well known scenario fields in the Carolina pantheon of paintball fields. And the reason is the owner, Vaughn Smith, doesn’t do a lot of scenarios. He doesn’t have to. As one of the few paintball fields nestled in between Greenville and Spartanburg, he gets a ton of weekend traffic and doesn’t have to produce big scenarios.  We received a note that he will be producing “Vietnam: A Total War Perspective” on June 5th. This is a great field with a variety of different types of venues: tunnels, junkyards, towns, woods and a straight up frigging hill. I would suggest showing up early as he doesn’t take credit cards, pre-registration or checks, cash only. Vaughn has been doing this for a lot of years. It will be interesting to see how the lines are and how smoothly it flows.   Read more

Clear and Present Danger - May 1st - Wolf Creek Paintball

Category: Events

Willem DaFoe as John Clark in Clear and Present Danger, Wolf Creek Paintball presents their 3rd Annual “Clear and Present Danger” scenario on Saturday, May1st, 2010 at their field in Troy , NC. Loosely based on the Tom Clancy novel and movie with Harrison Ford and Willem DaFoe. This is always one of the most fun games we play. In fact, the multi-army concept that we used in this year’s Generation Kill came directly from the game two years ago.  There’s not tons of back story behind this game. Watch the movie. But it gets right down to hitting the field and shooting the other guys.

Pricing:

  • Pre-Registration: $30 through www.scenariosupply.com or call 910-220-7184
  • Registration, day of game: $40 - after April 25th
  • Field paint only starting at $45 per case
  • Field opens at 8:30am and game on at 10:30am

We’re Baaaaaack!

Category: Events

Khe SahnOkay, I am much better now. We took about a month off after Generation Kill (and from pretty much all things paintball) just to get our batteries recharged and we are back and ready to rumble. Thanks to foolybear for picking up some of my slack (welcome aboard by the way!)

There’s lots of news, so where to start? How about game schedules? Since we posted the annual schedule, a lot of things have changed.  In the following  days to come, we will post the details about each of these events. Hopefully I will get the blog event schedule updated as well.

  • April 17th - Battle of Khe Sanh -  Adventure Beach Paintball  - $30-40
  • May 1st - Clear and Present Danger - Wolf Creek Paintball   - $30-40
  • May 15-16th - Vietnam Patrol - Command Decisions War Games Center - $45 - $55
  • June 5th - Vietnam: A Total War Perspective - Red Fox Games - $55
  • June 12th - an-Naksah - Boss Paintball- $25 - $35

Battle of Khe Sanh -  April 17th- Adventure Beach Paintball

What is about summer time that brings the Vietnam scenarios out in abundance? Must be the mosquitoes! Adventure Beach is udsting off one of the most publicized and controversial battles of the war that began winter of 1968 at Khe Sanh, 14 miles below the DMZ and six miles from the Laotian border. I’ve never been to a bad ABP event and this will be no exception.

Playing some Paintball (foolybear)

Category: Events

The past 30 days have been intense and a heck of a lot of fun. Great games at great fields!

Things started off right with MPP at Bear Claw. MPP’s brand of scenario + the great terrain of a world class field like Bear Claw - what’s not to love?

Ben worked his usual magic, this time with an unusual start to the game in an attempt to mirror the historic battle at Kharkov in Russia during WWII. Look for the full coverage and all the details in the July issue of APG.

I went head-to-head with the always dangerous Gun King$.

You've got to love a tank with a boomin' system.

Gen Kill Schedule

Category: Events

Come Early to Prepare

In order to get the most action time, we are starting the game at 10am sharp on Saturday morning, preceding a 9am safety briefing and a 9:40am headcount at the various launch points (for bonus points). This means that getting in early and prepped will be crucial to your side starting with points right out of the gate, so to speak. Read more

Pashtun Registrations Capped for GenKill!

Category: Events

Registrations are Filling Fast!

With two and a half weeks until Generation Kill: A Bad Afternoon in Afghanistan, the registrations are coming in fast and furious. The Pashtun Mafia is already capped off at 80 players! The Taliban and U.S. Marines side are gaining ground quickly.

TALIBAN: IT’S GOOD TO BE BAD!

Kevin ShimwellThe Taliban army is being commanded by Kevin Shimwell, owner of Adventure Beach Paintball in Tabor City, NC. Kevin is a very aggressive player and loves the action of paintball. His years and years experience and knowledge of the game will be a couple of major factors in the winning of this event. Kevin is as laid back a character as you would ever want to meet… until he needs to charge into battle and then it’s a different story! You can contact Kevin @ taliban@genkillpaintball.com

Ironman of Rogue CellIf Kevin’s years of experience weren’t enough of an advantage for the Taliban, the first thing he did was recruit (Larry) “Ironman” of Rogue Cell. Rogue Cell is one of the most respected teams in the region and Ironman is known for leading from the front. Picture Sgt. Rock, only taller. Much taller. Ironman is well known for his strategic tactics and use of communications to turn games around. Anyone thinking this game will be one sided, may need to wonder which side that will be!

MARINES: HOORAH!

Eric Lifer Brooks of AFCThe Marines First Recon Unit will be lead by Eric “Lifer” Brooks from Team AFC out of West Virginia. This last year, I had the privelege of commanding a core unit at Fulda Gap and having Lifer and Team AFC on my unit and they are “name takers and widow makers” You point these guys at a target and try to find a new target before they have decimated that last one! Eric and his group were our first choice to lead the Marines at Gen Kill simply because they exemplify duty, dedication, aggressiveness and commitment. He has already recruited a number of out of state teams to “bring it” to the Taliban and the Pashtun. The Marines could use a couple of action-oriented NC teams that know the opposition teams to act as a counter-strike force. If you are looking for a side that will do our military proud, contact Lifer and sign up for the Marines side.

Still A Great Deal for Great Cause!

You can still get $10 off the regular price (for a limited time) and $5 off a case of paint if you pre-register at ScenarioSupply.com. We are working with the USO to identify a military family impacted by the war in Afghanistan, so a portion of your registration goes to help someone who sacrificed for our country.

For More Information…

To learn more, go to our new web site, www.GenkillPaintball.com and to register, go to ScenarioSupply.com (to take advantage of the virgin/goat offer, register for The Taliban army) For questions, you can contact us at info@GenKillPaintball.com.
